Mail disappears

I open inbox and after I close the junk mail popup, e-mail automatically
leaves our mail box and I cannot find it. Also we cannot set up an inbox in
Hotmail. Can anyone help?

2. Until recently, Windows Mail could not handle Hotmail (HTTP) accounts.
You can now set up a Hotmail POP (non-HTTP) account in Windows Mail
using these settings:

Windows Mail's new account wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail addresses.
So, when you enter your email address initially, give it a fake one,
such as (e-mail address removed). After the account setup is complete, go back
and correct your email address.
