I cannot presently open my Windows Mail. A pop-up Windows Security window
asks me user id and password. Everything is being rejected. How do I disable
this? Its very annoying and I am being denied access to my email.

Never seen this prior and I've been using Vista since February.

Are you putting in the name and password given you by your email provider?

I have started having this same problem. The windows mail security box keeps
poping up after giving my logon and password. This window just started poping
up recently and was not an issue before. Have not been able to get around it
yet.

Which antivirus program are you running? Any other
third party security software?
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee or Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled.
Replace with a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:

I have been having the same problem, I have already uninstalled Norton and it
still will not work. Any suggestions? Pretty urgent for work...

Norton probably corrupted your email account. Delete that account,
restart Windows Mail, then recreate that account.
