Mail and Contacts

I was given an email address in an email - I selected that address and
right-clicked to select "Add to Contacts". That brought up a screen where I
typed in the person's name, phone, etc. Saved. Then I tried to search for
that name. Couldn't be found. But I could scroll and find the name. I
closed both contacts and mail - restarted and reattempted the search. No
luck. I then selected that same name, right-clicked to "Add to Contacts"
fully expecting a message advising that the person was already in the
contacts database. Didn't get it. Was able to add the person again. So now
I have two entries for the same person. But I still can't search for that
person. Yet I can search for other people who were added to my contacts
database when I imported the addresses from XP's Outlook Express. Anybody
have any ideas why this strange behavior
 
How are you searching for a contact?
In the Contacts folder, or by clicking on Create MAil - To: - Find: ?
