Magnifier at startup

No, I was not kidding you.. I found this answer in a forum

"If you don't stop the Magnifier utility before you shut down your computer,
Windows assumes that you want to use the utility the next time you start
your computer and automatically runs it (the OS does this by adding the
utility value to the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce registry
subkey). To stop the Magnifier utility, hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open the
Windows Task Manager, select the magnify.exe task from the Task tab, then
click End Task."

You are playing with me right?

Anyway I did it and rebooted and it still started. Is it in the registry
somewhere to start? It's not in the startup folder.

Mike Hall - MVP . I have 2 users on my laptop here . Your solution of
terminating the Magnifier process before shutting down worked for one user -
but for the second - no matter what I try , magnifier still comes on at
startup . I'm not too keen on editing the registry . Thanks .

Try the Accessibility options as outlined in this web page..

Mike did not suggest you edit the registry (probably as it would do no
good), only informed you as to how the process is designed to work.
In task manager you should make sure all users (check 'show all users') are
shown when you shut down the task.

If you are running the Windows Magnifer, you can shut it down by going to the
Control Panel >> Ease of Access Center >> Make the computer easier to see >>
and at the bottom of the screen you'll find the "Turn on Magnifer" selection.
Uncheck the check box, save your settings, and exit the Control Panel. Next
time you go in, you logon, the Magnifer shouldn't start.

Thank you very much norm, i knew it would be something simple, but just
couldn't find it, I do love this public forum for help.

finally, someone who explains in 1st grade computer english without having to
showoff. thank you, thank you, thank you! I'll be back!
