Heya,

I ran into a problem with my XP involving the internet recently that I have
much difficulity in undoing...

I recently downloaded a program entitiled "PCDJ" which was intended to use
to make better MP3 cd's to listen to on the road. When I installed the
program; it also installed something called "Pagoo internet answering
machine," and, "TSAdBot." In the near hour that followed. My Zone Alarm Pro
( Version 3.0.118 ), and System Suite 5 gave multiple warnings regarding both
of these programs trying to access the internet. It was at this time that I
got a business call and walked away from the computer for some time. When I
returned to the PC, my System Suite 5 firewall was gone, and could not be
reloaded. Then I noticed that Windows Defender (Beta 2) had kicked in and
removed the harmful program. The problem is that I cannot connect to the
internet at all at this point. After multiple restarts, and removal of the
listed malware program via control panel, my connection shows as good... ( I
can ping my DNS Server through command prompt ) But my internet explorer,
and any other program that acceses the internet is non functional. I am
truly confused as to my next step. I would like to fix this problem... Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am out of ideas.

Try running the LSP-FIX this will reset your "winsock" files hopefully this
will cure it.
You can download it here.
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Also you might want to check out this program it will stop malware or
viruses from disableing your firewall and/or anti-virus software like what
happened to you.
http://www.diamondcs.com.au/processguard/

I purchased the full version mainly because it also prevents "rootkits" from
being installed unless you choose to allow it.
