magenta will not print

I have a Cannon S800 printer, the magenta will not print. have gone through
the cleaning cycles and also changed the cartridge without any success.
Any ideas of how to fix this?

That's an older printer, and there's a good chance that if the cleaning
and new cartridge didn't do the trick, the print head is shot. If it
is, you can buy a new printer for less money than you'd spend on the

very depressing considering the small amount of printing this printer has
done.

Jeanette, before you throw the printer in the trash, try this. Take out
two of the same size cartridges, Magenta and maybe Cayen. Swap
install them and activate the printer. When trying to print, it should come
up with an error. See what the error states and follow its instructions to
correct it. Sometimes the head-cleaning feature does not work properly
from one head to the other and it may solve your situation. We have tried
this in the past and sometimes it worked.
 
Tried your suggestion but did not give any error message.
Have fixed the problem by pulling the print head and cleaning it with dry
and wet tissues. then running cleaning cycles again. Print quality is
improving rapidly with each use.
