@Mader: Dell Axim x51 and RS232

Hello,

at 10.01.2006 you said something about a Dell Axim x51 and RS232 which
you got working. Since I have to do RS232 communication myself and would
like to use that PDA but haven't bought it yet and Dell officially sais
it has no RS232 I'd like to hear more about these capabilities. Where
did you buy your serial cable from? Has it all pins or only Rx/Tx/Ground?

Greetings

Hi Markus,

You can verify all of the built-in serial and bluetooth ports on the
Axim x51v using our software, PocketDAQ Pro (http://www.appliedpda.com)
.. And as well test the RS232 capabilities. I have searched for an
rs232 serial cable for it but have not found any, which leaves the
option to either build your own, or use Socket Serial I/O CF Card
(http://www.socketcom.com/product/SL2700-096.asp); which has been
proven to work well. Another option ofcourse is to look at the iPaq
line of PDA's. Which *do* have serial cables for their built-in rs232
port.

Hope this helps.
