Thanks for the instruction. I realized that I made a big mistake when
trying to run LSP-fix downloaded from www.cexx.org. I didn't read the
instruction carefully and Checked "I know what I am doing" although I
actually didn't. After checking that box, I put all the file in "Keep" column
to "Remove" column and clicked "Finish" Button. I then run "whndnfix", after
that, I lost my internet connection.

Previosly I can use Yahoo SBC for internet, now with this mistake
happened in the course of repairing IE, I lost all my internet connect and
have to come to office to send message asking for help.

How can I get the Winsock2 recovered? Repair or reinstall? How?

Thanks again.

Take the end of the fuse and flare it a bit back so it is convex. Slide
it straight into blasting cap but leave a gap of about a 1/4 inch. Do
not have it touch the mercury fuliminate at the bottom of the blasting
cap and definitely do not twist the fuse as you insert it. Then do a
double crimp to secure the fuse to the blasting cap. Keep blasting caps
and fuses in separate storage areas and both far away from the TNT.
BLAM!!! Oh, well, good thing I was telling the guy how to do this over
the telephone.

"Checked "I know what I am doing" although I actually didn't." Ah, the
humor of watching the tribulations of someone else exceeding their
expertise. I feel your pain. Okay, so I don't feel you pain but I am
laughing at your pain.

At this point, you might be stuck with having to boot using the Windows
installation CD and using its Repair to fix your Windows installation
(the second Repair option since the first one simply puts you into
Recovery Console mode). Hopefully that will fix your TCP screwup.
However, if you have applied Service Pack 2 for Windows XP but only have
an installation CD for Windows XP that has Service Pack 1 then the
Repair won't work or abort. You need to get or build a slipstreamed
install CD for Windows XP that includes Service Pack 2. If you don't
have a real Microsoft installation CD (not some bastardized version from
Dell or Gateway), like you are stuck with some hidden hard drive
partition or "recovery CDs" there merely contain a drive image that
destructively restores that image into your system partition, you can't
use those for repairing your current Windows install. So how you
recover depends on what you have for Windows installation.

NOTE: When following up to prior posts in your thread, add your own
replies to that same thread. "Thanks for the instruction" implies you
had a prior thread to discuss your problem but instead you started a
completely separate and disconnect thread with your new post here. Your
new post is out of context.

Yes, you are right, I should have attached or just followed up the
previous posts. I am using 2000 prefessional with SP4 and IE 6 with SP1. I
tried to rerun the 2000 SP4 but it didn't work. I have a Installation CD but
it is original 2000 without any service packs included.

Did I just screwed Winsock2 file by misusing LSPFIX or some other files
as well? Any other repair suggestion? If only Winsock was damaged, we might
consider trying to rebuild it. I am new to this internet area, enought
Headache! Appreciate your help and wish you Merry Christmas.
