We are getting continuing Macsrv time outs/client disconnections on our
Windows 2000 server.
The server is a Dell Poweredge dual 866 with two 1gbs fiber connections into
the backbone of our network. Running Windows 2000 Server SP-4 with all
current patches/updates.
At any given moment we have 80 Mac OS 9.2.2 clients connecting to SFM shares
via TCP (Appletalk is far to slow by itself).
I have tried every listed tweak. Setting the time outs higher, etc. yet
NOTHING has proven effective.
We have had to order an Apple Xserve in order to deal with this, and will be
moving all the shares onto it. It is a shame because the Dell is a great
machine, and was given to us free.
Has anyone ever found a way to fix this?
