Macros

I have a user who created over a dozen of macros. Each
macro is assigned with a keyboard shortcut key, which
they also would like to be consistent. These are all
saved to her Normal.dot. They are quite extensive macros,
not easily to redo on each pc. How do I copy them over
for all users in her office to use.
We do have a network and I've tried sharing as a template
in a shared template folder but it is not working. I did
look at
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/DistributeMacrosCo
ntent.htm but I cannot copy the code as instructed.

Help
All users are running Word 2002(xp) on Windows XP.

Put them in an Add-In. See the page on the MVP site on distributing macros.

The macros themselves are simply text listings that can be copied from the
macro editor and pasted into a new template.
Word has a macro organizer that can be used for moving macro modules, but it
might be easier just to copy normal.dot from the user's machine - rename the
copy to (say) add-in.dot open that and use the macro organiser to delete out
anything not relevant, then use that template as an add-in on the other
machines.

Two additional thoughts, assuming that I understand your
situation correctly: First, even if the macros are copied
successfuly, security settings may prevent them from being
run. Go to Tools > Macros > Security and be sure the
setting is something other than High. This will need to
be done on each machine. Second, if other users have
their own standard template (normal.dot) settings that
they want to keep, the new macro could be copied over with
another name to either the local folder containing
normal.dot or to the workgroup folder. File > New will
show the renamed macro as a choice.

If the macros are in an Add-in in the Startup folder, so long as the option
under Trusted Sources on the Macro Security dialog is set to accept macros
in the Startup Folder, the security setting can be High or even Very High.
