I bought a new computer with Office2003 installed on it. I later installed
an upgrade version of Powerpoint2003, since I already had the XP version.
All updates have been applied .

I cannot create macros in Powerpoint even tho security is set to low. I
have no problem creating macros in the preinstalled Word and Excel. I have
tried all of the suggestions on the help page, but nothing works. Under
tools, macro, all menu options awre grayed out except the security option.

I'm running McAfee, Spy-bot, and Spy-Sweeper.

THanks for the quick response. I also e-mailed gateway andthey suggested
that I download your office2003 Windows Install Cleanup. I did that and
deleted and reinstalled the Powerpoint. It works now. I'd reinstalled and
several times previously with no success.

I agree with John. You may need to re-run Setup (the one frm your PowerPoint
CD, not the Office one).

But check this first ... in Word, you can get into the VB editor whether or not
a document is currently open. In PowerPoint you must first open a
presentation or start a new one. Could that be the problem?
