Although there are infrequent occasions when I want to use MMSW, probably
99% of the time it's only function is to produce inane animated advertising
on web sites I'm perusing. So I have two programs on my desktop: Install
and Uninstall MMSW. The default is uninstalled, unless I decide it's worth
temporarily installing it.

However, I still get incessant reminders to install, which I nearly always
decline.

My question - Is there a way to suppress these invitations to install?

Unfortunately many web sites use Flash, you will get nagged to install it if
your O/S doesn't have the correct version/build to support what the site
is offering in Flash.

You *may* block Flash by using Spyware Blaster which has a feature to
block Flash on a permanent basis.

I use this:

Is good for 6 months, then you have to update it.

Hello,

I would also like to recommend you Quero Toolbar which is free and has an
integrated flash blocker.
