This happens randomly and periodivcally.. I go to web sites that says "you
cant play/view this page" because i need a version 6 or higher. I install it
and still web sites dont work. I restart the pc and still it wont work. I
even uninstalled it first, then reinstalld it and still it wont work. Can
you tell me what other things i can try. maye i need to uninstall a differnt
thing or maybe i didnt do it right. some times, (you tube) it says its a
Java problem and i have fixed it after uninstalling the macromedia thing and
installing it. this time its not working. any ideas. And how can i prevent
this in the future. maybe there is an automatic update or something.

What browser are you using? IE and what version 6 or 7?

install the flash player here:
(uncheck the yahoo toolbar if you dont want it)
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

a stand alone downloadable version of the above is here

http://www.softwarepatch.com/internet/flash.html

if it still does not work

you need to enable javascripts activex from the options> options> security

make everything default.. You can do this easily if you have IE7 and go to
tools > internet options> advanced tab and you press the RESET button.. that
will put everything back to the default settings
