Hello,

I've been looking around for a solution for the following problem, but
haven't yet found anything.

When I (= user that is a member of the group USERS in XP professional, not
a member of the ADMINISTRATORS group) go with Internet Explorer to web pages
that contain macromedia flash objects, these objects don't show up on the web
page. I only see the place holders with a red cross in it.

When I make the user member of group ADMINISTRATORS (which I want to avoid),
these same webpages show their flash content ... .

I've already reinstalled Macromedia Flash, but the problem is persistent.

Anybody any ideas ?

Thanks in advance,
Aegis.

Trye this as the user that can't see Macromedia Flash objects:

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click on Tools | Manage Add-ons
3. Look in the list for Shockwave Flash Object
4. Check to see if it's Enabled
5. Check (far right) on ShockWave Flash Object line the File (should be
Flash8b.ocx)

This is also listed in the "C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files" folder.
