I want to make a macro, involving input of data, run automatically when I
come to the slide it is designed to run on. Is there a way of doing this or
is it possible to link it a shortcut key? I don't want to link it to an
action button or object involving a mouse click Thanks for any help

You could make PPT run the macro when you move to the slide during a slide show
by writing and installing an addin that handles events:

For shortcut keys, there's Chirag Dalal's Shortcut Manager for PowerPoint.
There's a link to it here:

action button or object involving a mouse click Thanks for any help
