macro to open note pad from excel

Can anyone help? I am trying to create a macro that opens "Notepad" from an
excel spreadsheet. Is that possible?

Sub Run_Notepad()
Run Shell("C:\WINDOWS\NOTEPAD.EXE", 1)
End Sub
