Good afternoon,
I have 1 database that our squadron
uses "upstairs", "downstairs" uses another one both access
2k and win2k. I would like to create a macro on the
downstairs database that would open the one upstairs. The
one upstairs is secured and uses user names and
passwords. For some reason this is not working for me. I
am using the runapp action and here is the command
line: "C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT
OFFICE\OFFICE\MSACCESS.EXE" "\\2MAWCPQ1S3L03\TRAINING
DATABASE\VMAQ-1 DATABASE.MDB" Any help is greatly
appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Respectfully,
Mike

The runapp command looks fine.Is the folder the upstairs database is located in,shared? If not share the directory and map it by right clicking on the Network Places icon on your desktop.Try running the macro now

Cheers
PS:Does it give you any error message and does it perhaps open Access (although not the DB

It opens access fine and then it says that I do not have
the necessary permissions to use the database and have the
sys admin or the person who created it give you
permissions. The folder that the database is shared and
is available to all users.

What about opening the secure mdb file and pointing to the correct workgroup
(system.mdw) file?

Your start icon would have this in the properties:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE" "Complete path of
the file upstairs" /Wrkgrp "complete path of the workgroup file"

Also, your login will need to be added via Tools, Security.
