I'm opening an word 2k file that contains macros. the error message
when I try to run one of the macros advises that the macros are
disabled. I have tried going to security and lowering the level but
it's not helping. Do you have any ideas?

Thank you kindly

You have to lower the level (to medium will give you the option you need)
before you open the document.
