Macro calling shortcut keys

Hello
Suddenly on only my last workbook the macro calling combination
ctrl+shift+letter
does not respond, although it did before. When pressing ctrl+shift a beep is
heard and the letter cannot be pressed. Otherwise all macros work perfectly.
This situation does not occurr on any other workbook and has never occurred
before, over many, many years.

Have you tried to look at the macro set to ensure that the hotkey combination
is still correct? If you go to Tools->Macro->Macros, highlight the macro in
question, and then click Options, it will show you what the shortcut key is
(and you can modify it). Assuming that it is showing correctly, you might
try holding CTRL+SHIFT outside of Excel and see if you still get a beep. If
so, something is intersecting that keyboard command on your PC.

Best of luck.

Hi,

When you say you can't press the letter, it sounds like a keyboard problem.
However, maybe that's not what you mean? Make sure the file with the
associated macro is Open. Also, press Alt+F8 and select the macro from the
list of macros and then press the Option button and see if the shortcut key
is still assigned.

Hi,
The home computer is XP and Office 2007; the laptop Vista and Office 2007.
The situation arises on both machines. (Both have the same folders and files).
The beep comes on when I press the letter of the macro after having pressed
ctrl+shift.
The situation arose of a sudden on the current workbook and other workbooks
opened in the last few days.
The situation does not occur on any of the workbooks saved over the years,
whenever I open such.
I must have done something to cause this. A few days ago I saved all my
folders and files on a disk on key?
Thanks
