I am running an old version of Macola. The data is stored on the network.
I think BTRIEVE/Pervasive database. I am trying to export or link the data.
Does anyone know anything about this software. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

Ron,

To start with you will need the DDF files to use any 3-rd party product
including ODBC. If you do not have these you can try and get them from
the vendor or you can use BtSearch32 at www.nssdd.com to help you
analyze the structure and build the DDF files. Once you have these
then BtSearch32 will export to dbase or ascii formats. If you are
doing a one time export you can download the trial version of Pervasive
Btrieve V8 at www.pervasive.com/downloads. That will allow you to use
BtSearch32 as well as to have access to ODBC once you have the DDF
files. You should not mix versions on the same data at the same time.

Ron,
I would check the data directory of the ddf file as mentioned. Which
version of Pervasive are you running if it is 7 or higher, ODBC drivers
are including with the database product. If before version 7, then
Macola use to ship 3 floppies disks with the ODBC driver for btreive.
You could also look for Intersolve / Merant / Datadirect odbc driver
for btreive. http://www.goldstarsoftware.com is a great site for
reference info on btrieve other than www.pervasive.com or if the
customer is still active with Exact Macola, their support is
outstanding.
