When I get this error, how can I capture the stop code info?
I am running XP Home on a Micron Millennia PC with an AMD Athlong 1Ghz
proc., and 640Mb DDR RAM. I get the blue screen when I'm doing file scans,
as with Norton A/V, AdAdware, or Window Washer.
I suspect it has to do with overheating, since one of my fans has quit. But
I began to have this issue after beginning to run my three disk drives on a
single PCI ATA/133 card, although only the boot drive is 133 -- the other
two are 100. But I'd like to analyze the stop code before pulling things
out.
I would like to analyze the stop code but the blue screen doesn't last long
enough to copy down the numbers; when I reboot, Windows runs a report to
send to MS, but it contains different hex numbers. Also, the MS KB
associates this error with Intel processors, and AMD's KB is of no help.
I installed MS debugging tools but don't understand how to set it up.
Thanks.
