I've experienced this same phenomina with several games, and in times past
with other machines, as well as this one. After running a game, some not too
intensive such as "Dark Fall", others more 3D and sound intensive, such as
URU, Ages Beyond Myst, my machine runs like cold molasses. It stays this way
for a long time, never regaining it's performance until I reboot. Is there a
program anyone knows about that can "clear" whatever causes these slowdowns
after a game? No doubt many other users are seeing this same thing. It's as
if the disk cache or whatever is full and doesn't clear out for other uses.
I'm running a 1.9 G Pentium 4 with 512 MB of PC 2100 DDR on a MSI 645 Ultra
motherboard, 80 GB IBM drive, TDK CD-R, SiS chipset. All BIOS, Mboard
drivers, AGP, etc., as well as all sound and graphic drivers are up to date.
All games I run do so flawlessly, no hiccups or crashes, just that my
machine is like a dog after quitting the games.
