machine not accessible

my machine is windows xp with sp2; (firewall is on; ) is a member of a
w2k domain; my colleagues laptop is in workgroup; we can ping each
other with IP; i can use his shared printer but he cannot access any of
the shared resources; laptop is xp with sp2 firewalled; but we've given
the all exceptions in two machines.

what could be the reason; from any other machine my machine can be
accessed.
help appreciated

I recommend you discuss this issue with your network administrator.
