In our local network, from my machine when I ping a machine say "Dev101" it
shows an external IP address "208.67.219.40" (I don't from where it comes)
instead of its actual IP address "192.168.2.111". however using IP address
it works fine.
Actaully same problem occur when I ping to any machine in network.

but from some machines ping to "ping Dev101" works perfectly fine.
I am unable to understand why this is happening. this problem occurred
within some days ago before that everything was working smoothly.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your DNS settings are incorrect. Instead of looking
for "Dev101" on the internal network, your machine is looking
for it externally.

Compare settings on the computers where it works correctly to those where it
doesn't work correctly, then make the settings of the problem computers the
same as the non-problematic ones.

How do I correct these settings?

The fast way to do it would be to open a command prompt and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL

on the computers you want to compare. Some details (the name and IP
address) should be different but most other settings - and definitely
settings like default gateway, DNS, WINS and DHCP addresses, should be the
same.
