what is the pont in knowing your MAC:, can it help you do
any thing?
I assume that you mean the MAC (Media Access Control) address of your
network card. Here are some uses for it:
1. Some cable modem ISPs require you to register you network card's
MAC address with them in order to use their service.
2. As a security measure, some home broadband routers let you define a
list of MAC addresses that are allowed to connect. Other MAC
addresses will be refused. This is particularly useful with a
wireless network connection, where it can prevent hackers from
connecting to your network.
