Mac to Windows Server 2003 -- Mac 9.1 files locked

After creating shares on a Windows 2003 server. Our Mac 10.2 users can move files to the server however our Mac 9.1 users are unable. After connecting to the server and then trying to open the share the lock icon appears and we are unable to move data to the share. On the server the file permissions are set to read, write, modify. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Maybe it is just me, but I doubt that you'll find much help on this subject
