Mac saved mpeg's edited in MM ???

am I able to work with MM on saved mpegs' from a mac (quicktime).
Are mpeg's always mpegs or are they "tagged" to only work with their
respective
operating systems? Any other cross platform info. would be helpful.Thanks.

see the Importing Source Files > Video > MOV page of my website, along with
the Distributing > Apples and Others page.

I think MPEG files are MPEG in both environments...
