Hi Guys,

I've bought a new style Mac keyboard for use on my home PC. I was told that it would work straight away, but that some of the buttons would be slightly different. It did work straight away and the buttons are slightly different, which is fine, but every now and then it crashes my computer.

The problem occured for a while before I clicked what it was, so I removed the keyboard for a couple of weeks, and the rebooting stopped. Sure enough if I plug it back in I get the same problem again.

Has anyone else tried this, or does anyone know of any driver updates or a possible cause for the problem?

If anyone could help on this I would be really grateful.

Hi Enoc84

Welcome to PCR...Can you let us know the make of keyboard, plus os, system specs...Helps us all to help you if we know these facts..

Hi Madx,

Thanks for your response. Its an Apple Mac aluminium keyboard and I'm running XP home sp2. My system is AMD 64X2 Dual Core 4200+ 2.21GHz, 2Gb ram, Geforce 9600Gt graphics card.

Does any of this help?

It looks like others are having this problem too on the Apple forum (this is just one example : http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5181879&)

Try updating the drivers to the latest ones and see if that helps, as it looks like people using this keyboard are using some apple drivers (I don't know anything about Mac stuff, so this is just some general advice that might help). Keyboards don't normally need drivers, but this one looks like it might.

I had a little look around and can't seem to find anything relating to your problem..What i'd suggest is uninstall any keyboard drivers the re-install them and see what happens..As for your Keyboard layout, there is a programme called Keytweak that you can use to remap your keyboard, and you can find that HERE..

Edit: If your keyboard has the Bluetooth facility, there are different drivers for that one..If you can give me a serial number for the keyboard i'll source the ddrivers for you..
