Sounds like your NIC is dying. You might try physically removing it,
wiping off the contacts with a clean cloth, and reinserting it; this
is far from guaranteed to work, but it is free. I suspect that you
will soon be replacing that NIC with a new one; the good news is
that NICs are cheap.
