Does anyone from MS Support monitor this Group?
Can't anyone from MS who does monitor it escalate the issue of
non-connectivity of DV Cams to Firewire ports under XP SP2? Take a look at
the number of entries and the perod of time that this problem has been
reported.
Is my expectation of this discussion medium unreasonable?
Do we each have to log a support call with MS to get any attention?

Don't you think if an MVP had a solution, they would be all over this?
The only postings i've seen go back to the; did you defrag your hard
drive, check for viruses & spyware, etc. To this day, I haven't seen
one person from MS say, "oops, in our zeal to protect idiots that don't
run anti-spyware apps. or up to date virus protection, we may have
screwed up in changing whatever it was we changed for firewire."
Look at the other boards: I lost my network, I can't access my drives,
usb doesn't work, my printer quit, my (fill in the blank) doesn't work
anymore.
Most of the problems are system bus, or hardware problems.
Until MS comes up with a complete solution for firewire, it will be
unusually quiet on this board. We just have to keep hammering away to
get noticed.
