Hi,

I just downloaded and ran the Microsoft AntiSpyware software and to my
dismay it found something called Lyttlesoft Keybugger - a key logging
program.

I am very worried about how long it has been on my computer, how it could
have got there and what damage it might have caused. I have, naturally,
removed it. Does anyone have any idea who... or how.. that software came to
be on my computer and what the chances are of my privacy being invaded? I am
extremely worried.

Whenever you need information about something, Google its name.
Searching for "Lyttlesoft Keybugger" brings up a lot of links. Here is
a good one:

You also need to remember that MSAS is still *beta*, which means it
isn't finished yet. It could throw false positives. To confirm that
your computer is infested, I would also download and install Ad-aware
and Spybot Search & Destroy from www.majorgeeks.com. Update both
programs and then go into Safe Mode. Get into Safe Mode by repeatedly
tapping the F8 key as the computer is starting up to get the proper
menu.

Once in Safe Mode, do a thorough scan with Ad-aware and then with
Spybot. Use both (obviously not simultaneously) because one will catch
things the other misses. Post back after you've done this if you need
more help.

Thanks, good advice which I will follow. I was just filled with dismay for I
did not know who could have put that on my computer, when, how long it has
been there, whether anything malicious has happened.. whether I have been
spied upon for all this time.. it gave me a sleepless night. Don't panic eh?
I did.. am.

Panic is wasted energy. Spend the energy cleaning up your computer.
Change all your passwords to good strong ones.
