Lycos sidesearch??

I must have downloaded something without realizing it,
because every time I open Internet Explorer now,
this "Lycos Sidesearch" thing opens in the left side of
the browser as well. I can close it, but can't figure out
how to get rid of it so it doesn't appear at all anymore.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to
permanently remove it?

Any help would be much-appreciated. Thanks.
 
This is one of the programs that hitches a ride from other
things that are downloaded. I have seen it installed after
downloading Webshots. Go to add and remove programs in the
control panel and it can be removed.
