The latest version of the I/O ROM on the controller board of this printer is
no longer available from Apple as a service part. Discontinued.
The only other option is to get a used one. In order to be successful, I have
to know what p/n this particular ROM is. (Apple uses an entirely different
p/n scheme for service p/n's; the service p/n doesn't match the p/n on the
ROM.)
Would anyone who owns one of these printers:
1. Look at the startup page and see what version I/O ROM it has (it's printed
in small font at the top right corner, ie: "PS: 1.0 I/O: 2.0").
2. Pull the rear cover (one screw under the toner cartridge door, right side;
slide the cover right a half-inch and it pops off) and read the p/n off of
the I/O ROM:

Knowing the proper p/n will help me determine (remotely) whether someone has
the right version (ie, if they have a controller board not installed in a
printer).
Thanks,
