Dell Power Edge 2800. 2GB Ram RAID 1

During CLEAN install process WIN 2000 ADVANCE SERVER, I get

LSASS.EXE error. The instruction at 0x77fc9bbd referenced memory at
"0x58544844". The memory could not be read.

Clicking OK continues the install until the Hardware detection process where
the system hangs 33% into the process (about 95% of the time) or install
fails with Fatal Error at license screen.

SETUPERR.log shows 3 messages:

Setup encountered an error while trying to set system security. The Network
request is not supported.
---
Setup was unable to set the account domain SID because of the following
error: LsaOpenPolicy returned status c002017
---
Fatal Error: The security subsytem could not be initialized.

Notes:
- I have no USB devices attached to system.
- I have tried with no network conection and with network conection.
- I have tried DHCP and static IP assignments.
- I have tried without conecting to domain (just a workgroup).

I'm really at a loss here. I have set up 3 prior Power Edge systems and
have never experienced this problem.

Are you using the latest raid drivers for the 2800 you have?

If not sure, try connecting a temporary IDE drive and installing the OS on
that.

Cameron,

Thank you for the reply.

I will double check this, but the system is right out of the box.

Well I solved this after thinking about it for awhile. I tried an older
Dell "Installation and Server Management CD" from March of 2005 that I knew
worked for me and Win2K Advanced Server in the past. It worked. Not
sure why their latest setup disk is a stinker, but it is. Probably SP4 issue.
