Process File: lsass or lsass.exe
Process Name: Local Security Authority Service
Description: Windows Local Security Authority Server Process handles Windows
security mechanisms. It verifies the validity of user logons to your
computer or server. Technically, the software generates the process that is
responsible for authenticating users for the Winlogon service.

On my LAN I have one workstation that occasionally shuts down saying
lsass.exe has generated an error.
It is the only twin P4 workstation and as such is slightly faster.
I changed the OS from XP Pro to Win2K but it continues to do it albeit less.
However logon is perfect with event viewer error free.
Cannot figure out the problem causing it.
All other workstations are free of this issue. Single processor P4's with 2K
, 512 MEG RAM Intel Pro100+ cards etc.

Any clues here ??

lsass.exe ,we had it running in system32\drivers it was a virus, check were
it is running from, caused all sorts of problems
