I have an HP Pavilion DV9420US that I just converted over to XP OS.
I had a Matshita LS-120 Ver5 High capacity floppy drive in my other
computer working under Windows 2000. I purchased a “Mad Dog†Multimedia
hard drive enclosure to mount my LS-120 into. I plugged it into my new
laptop Targus ACP45 docking station. It does read 1.44 floppies but I
receive a I/O Device Error when I try to read a LS-120 Super Disk which
I used on my other computer. I can’t find any drivers for XP anywhere.
I can’t seem to figure out why it worked on Windows 2000 internal mount
but not on a USB external mount. Anyone have any ideas?

One plausible explanation is that whilst the LS-120 was mounted in
the computer, it was being read by the motherboard bios as such. But
there is no assurance that the electronics of the HD enclosure has
that same capability. IOW, the "Mad Dog" enclosure might be good
enough to read and translate the electronics card of hard drives but
not of a relatively rare LS-120 drive.
