LQ-1500 Error printing

Have tried everything - Per Troubleshooter, tried to print
from the command prompt. When I hit enter, on the next
line, next to the prompt it said access denied. Had a live
chat w/Microsoft support today and the result was run a
dual boot Win98 on drive C:\ and WinXP on the D:\ drive.
Because even though Epson LQ-1500 was listed as an option
in the printer setup wizard and it shows ready on the
Printers & faxes screen and appears in the Printer monitor
window, they felt like the driver would not work with
WinXP.

Yes I did...
Please note #1 Direct connect. Printing from WinXP or from
the Command Prompt, I still get Error ID: 61
POOLing - redirects print job to Default printer.

I guess Microsoft Support is correct. The drivers are no
good and if I insist upon using this printer, they said to
go with a dual boot system (C:\Win98;D:\WinXP).
