After upgrading to Windows Vista (32-bit) my scanner Mustek ScanMagic 9636 P
(connected to LPT port in computer) stopped working. When I try to scan
something, I get message: "The scanner is not connected. Please check the
cable". Before upgrading (on Windows XP 32-bit) it was working fine. I guess
that one of the security systems in Windows Vista blocks or limits access to
the LPT port for the scanner driver. Is it possible to change settings of
that security system (or in another way make the scanner work)?
Before upgrading I have ran Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor and it has not
said that my scaner is not compatibile.
I want to add, that printer connected throughout the scanner works great
(scanner has two LPT sockets - first for computer and second for a printer
and printer is connected through this scanner). Of course I have tried to
disconnect and uninstall printer and printer driver before installing scanner
driver, but it has not helped.
