LPT port has DMA channel?

Windows XP SP2

Device Manager shows both my LPT ports (1) and (3).
LPT 3 is listed (as) (with) DMA Channel 3.

Is that an unusual description? This is what they call a multifunctional
parallel port.

Parallel ports have had DMA capability for a long time.

Not called "multi-function" port but "enhanced" parallel port or "enhanced"
communication port.

Might take a look at this http://www.lvr.com/parport.htm Ch 1 of the book is
an overview. Often the type of
parallel port can be selected in the BIOS.
