I use Roxio Easy CD Creator 7.5 and you must have a decent Sound Card. I
have used both Creative Audigy and currently Creative Audigy 2Z.
If you use the first card, then you need a 1/8 stereo mini male to TWO RCA
females. Now if the Turntable is a Magnetic Cartridge you will need a Mixer
or a Phono Preamp. I have a mIxer from DJ days and you merely plug the
turntable into the mixer/preamp and then run an RCA patch cable tothe
Y-Adapter I spoke about earlier.
Now run the Roxio Program and you will note the LP to Computer selection,
follow the directions.
Now what I do after I have copied the songs into the HD. I use the Roxio
Sound Editor to cut the blank Intros and the Blank Outros from the song. If
needed I also amplify by about 30% as well. Be sure to select Normalizer
when recording onto the Hard Drive and the Roxio software will make sure all
of the songs are copied at the same level. You also have Pop remover and hiss
and I have found the software to be excellent.
Radio Shack sells the Y-Adapters and the mixers and you can get the
software on line.
Good luck and have fun... I also recommend to save in Wav file format and
then if you want to copy CDs and change to Mp3 you can, at least you will
have the full, uncompress version of the file to work from.
