If you are just dealing with a single instance. You can
type the "i" in the cell press [enter] then highlight
the "I" in the formula bar and type an "i".

If you catch it immediately you can hit Ctrl+z,
the main drawback is the it also moves the cursor.

The thing that hits me the most from AutoCorrect is
typing in a first initial for a person's name tries to do
a list in Word. But look over the entire AutoCorrect list.

In Excel, when a lower case i is entered into a cell with
no other text, it changes to an upper case I. Does anyone
know how to keep it in lower case?

thanks
