Hello, I'm running win 2000 on a laptop IBM P3 733 e/w
128Meg Ram, When I using Outlook, MS Words and MS
powerpoint I'm getting low virtual memory paging file size
pop-up then windows is increasing it, but it happend so
often that I decide to increase it myself. I had 192 and I
increase it to 215. in the help windows it's recommended
to make it as 1.5% of the RAM.
I notified my IT group thaty I may need to increase my RAM
so that i'm getting rid of these ennoying pop-up but see
the answer below:

informing Sylvain that he should have his VM set at half
of his RAM. Also informed he, he shouldnt need new RAM.

AM I wrong or he's right? If he's right how to resolve
that issue??

Thanks!!!

The recommendation is 1.5* RAM, with 128 that equals 192
I've never seen a rec of 50% of RAM.
Personally I'd suggest a min RAM of 256 with yr sys

128 meg of memory is minimum. Your system would operate better with 256
meg of memory. If you have enough free disk space set your page file to
300 meg or even some more. You do not want to set it to 1/2 of your
memory (in your case only 64 meg). That would cripple the performance on
your system and you would not be able to run multiple programs. My basic
rule is you want memory + page file to equal close to 512 meg or more.
