When capturing video via Fire wire interface the images
are always very dark. The camera is fine and the problem
is not apparent if I view the image from the camera set
up feature in the control panel, any idears?

Cheers

I would love to find out what's going on here as well. Have pretty much the
same problem when capturing from my Sony DCV-TRV25. Images on the computer
look noticeably darker than on the camera itself.

You can use the affects in MM2 to make the clip brighter (but it washes the
image, of course). Any other help or ideas would be appreciated.

The gamma setting of the monitor could be incorrect. If the images look OK
on the TV, try increasing the brightness through monitor adjustment.

Matching color (and brightness) settings between a scanner, monitor, and
printer is a black art :-) Sometimes having the proper .ICM file set for
the monitor (and printer and scanner) helps.

I also have a Sony DCR25 and get the same problem. I also
get exactly the same problem in Ulead Videostudio. If I
adjust the brightness in the programs, it ends up being
far to light when put onto CD or DVD to play on TV. It is
very frustrating, because the images on my PC are just
too dark to work with. It would very much like to get
this problem solved, if anyone has any ideas please.
