Low resolution on web images

I have a problem and would appreciate it if someone could help me with it.

Any webpage that I open shows images with a low resolution. It is not a
problem of the general resolution of the computer, for it is set at 1024 x
768, 32 bits, true color. If I look at the same web page on another
computer, images show just fine. I have changed the resolution of the
computer with no improvement of the problem. I have reinstalled the video
adapter and monitor drivers with no improvement.

If I store the images seen on the computer that shows them with low
resolution and open them in another computer they still show with low
resolution.

If I store the images seen on the computer that shows them with high
resolution and open them in the computer with the problem, they still show
with high resolution.

When comparing the size of the images stored from both computers, the ones
saved from the computer with the problem are a lot smaller (sometimes 5
times smaller) than the ones that show fine on the other computer. This
should be the cause of the problem. Smaller space smaller resolution.

I am convinced that it is something with the configuration of IE6 but I just
can find what it is

Does anyone have a clue of what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Is your ISP compressing images to provide faster downloads? AOL, Netzero and
others provide this option. If you right-click an image is there an option
to "show image with full quality" or a similar option? If this is the
situation, you should be able to turn off the "faster downloads" option.

Hope this helps,
Don

DAMN! That was it

It was driving me mad. In the beginning I thought everybody had lost their
taste for good design and picture taking

Thanks a million Don
