How do I low level format a DTLA-305020? Thx!

Not possible. You can blank it with the IBM disk tools, that has a
similar effect.

Pity it aint actually a low level format, stupid.

That's what Format Track always has been, silly, the vehicle for a
Low Level Format.
The Format Unit command adds the physical reordering of Logical
Blocknumbers to that, making it even closer to actually formatting
(tell what is a block is and what address it has) inside of tracks.
That is what comes closest to a real Low Level Format (as some-
thing that actually formats tracks into a number of blocks).

He asked: How do I low level format a DTLA-305020
not "how do I rewrite the servo tracks".
Low Level Format is the process that happens after the
servo tracks have been written.

Not to a real Low Level Format where Logical blocknumbers are
(re)arranged to be physically continuous throughout the drive.
Compared with Format Track for that drive, sure, that is similar
in effect.

Only if it does the Format Unit as part of the writing zeroes.
It nowhere says that.

Clueless.

Pig ignorant ****wit.

Pity that most modern ATA hard drives just write zeros when that
command is issued and that is nothing like a real low level format, ****wit.

Reams of your pig ignorant shit flushed where it belongs.

Pity someone as terminally braindead as you can't recognize this thread
isn't just about "most modern ATA hard drives", it's about an IBM.
just write zeros when that command is issued

As if you ever can Low Level Format an IDE drive that already once was for-
matted, silly. There isn't anything to format as the format is already there.
Writing zeroes is all that a Low Level Format can do on an IDE drive once
it has left the factory.
and that is nothing like a real low level format, ****wit.

Like you would even know what a 'real' Low Level Format is, silly.
Reams of your pig ignorant shit flushed where it belongs.

Silly terminally braindead ostrich thinks he can flush Google Groups.

Some terminal ****wit claiming to be
Folkert Rienstra <[email protected]>
desperately attempted to bullshit its way out of its
predicament and fooled absolutely no one at all. As always.

Hoo boy, Rod - you are a genuine source of amusement!

Thanks! I really look forward to reading your posts!

No need to repeat yourself, Rod - unless you stutter when you get a
little uptight?

Like I say, just relax.

It's a DTLA (IBM) , so it is actually possible.
The drive supports both Format Track *and* Format Unit.

Uh, no.
