I have a pc with windows 2000 sp2 installed. The problem is that I
get an error message saying that my battery is dangerously low and
that I must plug my pc very soon. The thing is that it's a desktop!
Also, I can't reboot it just yet because its acting as a print server
right now and I just can't make any changes that requires rebooting.

I'll do so to test your suggestions though.

Thanks,

Simon

Is there a Battery Monitoring program running in your taskbar?

Maybe there is an UPS (battery backup) connected to your desktop?

Click these icons

Control Panel\Power Options\UPS

Are there any devices defined? If it's there, then is the UPS plugged
into the wall socket and is it turned on or bypassed. Check for a
cable (usb or serial) connected between the UPS and the computer.

Also check your device manager for any Battery entries. Maybe removing
them will get rid of the message.

Also check your Start folder to see if there is a Battery monitor
program running.
