Hi purpleme3
Hi, I am hoping someone can answer this question because it is
driving me nuts! Recently, my computer had alot of spyware etc on
it. I removed it all.. (I am pretty sure). I check the registry, I
have spybot, and I went through and checked the created date on all
of my folders/files etc. So anyway, everything is back to normal
except that I can't search from the address bar.. What's up with
this? I set the defaults back so I have my search button correct
and it brings up msn as it used. So how can I fix this search
problem?
Since you did not post necessary information such as the version of
Windows or IE you are using, I can only make a general suggestion.
You might try the following and see if it helps:
Unable to search from IE 6.0 Address Bar
Check the Registry to see if this file is there. Sometime during
removal of hijackers or spyware files in the Registry can get
corrupted or removed as well. If not, try adding this line to this
part of the registry.
(watch for the wrap, it should be all on one line)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\URLSearchHooks]
