Lots of Shortcut Icons in Task bar slow >> Drop Up List reveal those hidden

I have a ton of shortcut icons in my task bar. There are so many that
many are hidden off the right by the >> and to see them I mouse on
the >>

Thing is it takes quite a while to REVEAL the rest of them in the
vertical drop up list.

Maybe I have so many I need to expand some sort of cache setting
someplace so the drop up list shows quicker.

Note that these shortcut items are *not* on the task bar. They are on a
toolbar, in this case the Quick Launch toolbar.

Although the Quick Launch bar appears *on* the Tak Bar by default, it is not
actually part of it, and can be dragged off the Task Bar entirely and docked
on another side of the screen. One configuration that I particularly like is
having the Task Bar at the bottom of the screen and the Quick Launch bar on
the left side, where there's room for many more Quick Launch icons than when
it's on the Task Bar.

If you feel the need to have that many Quick Launch shortcuts, you might
want to consider doing something like this.
 
Right I should have said Quick Launch Bar, and I know I can undock it,
move it around wherever, make it two rows high etc.
I like it at the bottom just to the left of and in line with the task
bar. Thing is I have so many icons on it that 2/3 or more of them are
not visible and I have to mouse on the >> to reveal the rest in a drop
up list, which is fine, but it takes forever for that drop up list to
appear. Its like there is a cache or something that stores those other
shortcuts, or maybe it is the custom icons I have assigned to most of
my shortcuts. Something slows down the loading of the drop up list.
 
Right-click on an unwanted icon, and click delete. Just get rids of the
ones you don't want, and you'll have room for the ones you like.
