Lots of doubts...

I was introduced to Windows XP very late and I have just
moved from ME to XP. There are a couple of doubts and
problems that I have.

1. How do I have the Status Bar appear permanently in any
window like the way it is in ME.

2. Where the hell is Scan Disk? What if I want to scan
disk some floppies?

3. How do I view the volumes of a CD? In ME all I had to
do was right click and use the properties option to open
the volumes dialog.
 
On the View menu of the program you are using, click Status Bar.
If there is a check mark next to the menu option, the status bar is displayed.

Windows XP uses "Checkdisk" and not "Scandisk" used in previous versions of Windows.
The Checkdisk function will begin when you restart your computer:

Open MY COMPUTER, right-click on the CD Drive, select EXPLORE.
