I recently installed a wireless network card on my laptop
with the accompanying software for the pc. Somehow I
lost the icons for the network connections in the View
Network Connections. Can someone help me restore them?

Good luck finding an answer... Check out
http://groups.google.com and do a search for: "network
connection icons missing xp" - You'll see that MANY, MANY
other people are having the exact same problem (including
me) I hope microsoft would fix this and SOON.

First make sure that your Network Connections Service and Remote Access
Connection Manager services are running. If they are then compare the LAN
connections in the connections folder with the Network Adapter drivers in
device manager. If there is a Network Adapter driver that doesn't have a
corresponding connection in the connections folder then try reinstalling it.
